Lynn My wife, Dottie, and I have been boating since we were first married about 40 years ago. In the past we have trailered a boat to most of the waters in the eastern half of the US and raised our 2 kids to enjoy the water and boating. Now that our kids are grown up . well, they are both over 30 - "grown up" is another issue . we enjoy long range cruising. For instance our cruise last summer took us to the North Channel on Lake Huron. When we returned to home port we had logged 48.6 running hours and 958 statute miles . that was the second time we have visited the North Channel and we probably will do it again! One of our dreams is to cruise the "great loop" some day. We have visited ports on 3 of the 5 Great Lakes . by water, not land! . and have cruised the waters from The Chesapeake Bay to the North Channel on Lake Huron. We currently own a '96 Carver Mariner and dock her on Lake Erie at Sandusky, OH. The nearest city you probably would recognize is Toledo, Ohio. She is named "The Office"; our dinghy is "Coffee Break"; our PWC is "an appointment". So, we spend our summers at "The Office" and quite frequently are on "coffee break" or on "an appointment". Our two grandsons are showing signs of being potential skippers - at least they enjoy "driving" the boat whether it is tied to a dock or with Pa while out on the lake. March 28, 2004 at 05:59:31 |

Doreen First I would like to welcome myself to your website. I am a wooden boat owner. I have a 46' Chris Craft "Connie" that I love, but unfortunately can't continue to keep her. I am a single mom with two kids and she is just too costly. Her name is "Big Woody" how's that for laughs. Anyway had alot of great times with her. She has always been a head turner no matter where I have gone with her. Never thought I would like a wooden boat with all the maintenance involved, but nothing beets a dbl planked mahogany yacht driving through the New England Waters..Happy boating to all and thank you.... Member: Glenn Hello All. I have always loved the water. I grew up surfing on Florida's east coast and around boats. In the past few years I have not been involved with the water due to college, career and marriage (now divorced). All this is now in the past and I just got a job at the Marine Mechanics Institute as a Career Advisor. So now I'm back and no stopping. I plan to buy a boat very soon to spend as much time on the water as I can, and become invovled with marine activities. This is what I've always wanted and I'm excited about getting back in the game. Jack & RoseClearwater Beach Florida is our favorite place to go
boating....cruising and touring the little islands over there. We have a bass
boat as well and enjoy all the lakes around central Florida like Lake Okechobee
and Lake Istokpoga to name a few. Our boating activities include but are not
limited to: fishing, swimming, picnicking and cruising the barrier islands. We
found the Boat Club a few years back while surfing the net and really enjoy
being members. Captain Jim has done a great job and we appreciate him and the
time he has taken to create and maintain the All- Volunteer Yacht Club! Thanks

| Please include the United States Power Squadrons in your website's safety link, www.usps.org. We have been teaching public recreational safe boating courses 90 years now. And we do this in 455 squadrons with 56,000 members vounteering their knowledge. ALSO most states now have their own state certified boater instruction courses. I have used your material, photos and jokes to liven up my public boating courses/classes for years. I hand out copies of many of the jokes at my boating booths at Safety Fairs all over the Galveston Bay Coast. Responses have been so delightful; people have seen themselves in your posted materials,too. Keep it up; we all luv it ! ! ! | |

Gil My favorite lake is Norris Lake in East Tennessee. There are 5 lakes in out area. I presently own a 16 ft johnboat but I have sail fever and I'm looking for an affordable pocket cruiser or weekend trialer sailer to use on Fort Loudon Lake....part of the tennessee river. Ricky I have always enjoyed boating and fishing, until recently when I was introduced to sailing, now it has become more of a pasion. I have found sailing to be a greath activity for my family to spend quality time togather and gives each of us the opportunity to work togather. Ed I love boating, At the moment though, I am "boat shy", If you were to ask why? I would explain that money is tight, And while I would love to own, It is an up hill battle, yes a fight, Just to stay above water, (no pun intended), But as soon as comes the time, A boat again I will buy, Most likely an Osprey, As they attract me most, But a Bayliner might not be too bad, As they are lower in the terms of cost... I hope Jim is past his moms passing, And his wife is feeling a bit better, After her own ordeal, I am sure our prayers go out to both, As this past year, they have had a pretty rough deal... Bob I have been boating prior to WWII on lakes and inland waterways. An old sailor at heart who has given in to powerboats. Presently own a 34' Mainship II Trawler - 1981 vintage. Purchased it in Daytona Beach, Fl. and my brother and I sailed it to Portage Des Sioux, MO. in 2002. Hoping to complete the Great Circle Route at some future date. As a member of the USCGAUX Flotilla 3-8 in St. Louis, MO. I am dedicated to promoting Safe Boating. I currently publish the Flotilla Monthly Newsletter, therefore I am always looking for material to publish. Hopefully I can draw jokes, nautical stories, etc. etc. etc. from this club. Looking forward to reading interesting stories. Please let me know if there are any objections to reproducing any stories or jokes contained in this Website. __________________________________________________________ That's what the jokes and stuff is there for Bob.
