Currently live on San Andres Isla, Western Caribbean, have RED Tanzer 22 sailboat. Just bought 1948 40' Chris Craft double cabin cruiser, twin screw, in Seattle and trucking to St. Pete's FL for our U.S. home. She is a very sound vessel but needs lots of TLC in the cosmetics (any Floridans want to strip....wood). Needs cabin top canvas replaced (I need advice). Also looking for a good Hercules engine/Paragon trans. mechanic in FL area....although just minor things right now. ANY RESTORATION suggestions (stripping & varnishing tips, canvas tips, etc) please email me. Want to see where I live 8 mo year, go to http://www.san-andres.com and plan to come visit; it's inexpensive once you get there! Tom

I have a 22 foot Hunter sailboat SO FUCH MUN named after a comment made by my wife at a conference we were at in Orlando Fl. She meant to sa so much fun at any rate it seems right for the boat. We usualy sail on the Indian River and surrounding waters. SO FUCH MUN can be trailered but so far we have not ventured out with her. We are just learning to sail and it is more fun than we expected. I found the web site on a link from Real Sailors magazine I got at the Miama Boat show.

I guess I've always had a connection to water since I was born on a small island. I have a 1972 33' Carver that I live on, it's moored on the Columbia River. So far I've only taken short one day trips but this summer I'm heading upriver as far as I can go, it may be my last great voyage since I've been diagnosed with cancer.

Hi All,
I found your site looking for boating humor. I think you come up #1 on one of the search engines. Anyway, I edit our local (Florida Keys) marine industries association newsletter. We are a little casual down here so I like to keep the newsletter lite & airy. As a matter of fact, they won't read it unless it has humor and believe me it's not easy adding humor to an article about the increasing insurance costs. Look forward to sharing with you all and if anyone is looking for info about the Keys don't hesitate to ask .........Joan

Hi All! My wife (Melissa) and I have just purchased our first boat, and 1987 28' Chris Craft Amerosport. Our poor boat was horribly neglected by the previous owner and we have spent months whipping her into shape (including suffering through a marina fire - courtesy of a careless mechanic). We are almost ready to start enjoying the fruits of our labor (and money).

We live in Jacksonville Florida and have ready access to the St. Johns River and all the connecting waterways that flow into the river, so our boating options are endless. Our boat, the Allpoints, is a 28' express cruiser manufactured by Murray Chris-Craft. Twin Crusader V-6 inboards drive the boat (on tiny 12" props) to a maximum of 23 knots. A roomy cabin provides plenty of storage and overnight comfort, but the 8' x 11' cockpit means that any more than 5 onboard at a time is a bit crowded.

If there are any other Amerosport owners out there I would love to talk to them (our boat has been quite a project). Or, if there are any other new boaters in the area looking for people to cruise with drop us a line! Happy Boating!

Good morning Captain Jim. As usual, I enjoyed the latest newsletter in its entirety. I'm still without a boat of my own, but get in some boating with my friend, aboard his 23' Searay in Fishers Island Sound, Long Island Sound and occasionally over to Greenport and/or Montauk in Long Island, NY. My son Bob, who I believe is also a member of the club, still has his 351/2' Hunter on Cayuga Lake and he cruised up to Lake Ontario and up into Canada this past summer. Keep up the good work.
Regards, Dick.
