My favorite body of water is Narragansett Bay (where I grew up). Second woul be the Connecticut River leading to Long Island Sound (where I live now) followed closely by the Cape (Cod) and Islands (Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket). My boats are an O'Day 192 (Isabella) and two kayaks. Any other boats I operate are ships (I have a captain's ticket).

Thank you so much for the good safety tips as well as the humor. The loud laugh you hear over the wires is us having a great time with your jokes.

We returned from Lake Huron in late August after a great cruise in the Northern Channel. We chartered a 36' Albin and had a super time. We were part of CCA (Cruising Club of America) that had 15 chartered boats for us folks too far to bring our boats and 15 boats that membrs brought, some as far away as Florida) If you haven't tried this cruising area you are missing a great time.

It should arive early Wednesday morning. I'm excited. I just sold my 23' bayliner single engine. I never drove a twin screw, but I will figure it out. I always do.

Where to begin...In my mind, my Father was the Original Boat Dude - owned a 16' Glassmaster and a 20' Bell Bouy. When he was on the boat, he forgot about everything else in the world but the fact that he was on a boat fishing/beering. I picked up where he left off. I,however, made the shift from Power boats (19' Regal) to Sail (This after I connected the Regals outdrive with an unseen rock. Mental Note: 40kts + MerCruiser = $5200). After sailing in the OPB Class (Other Peoples Boats) for 4 years, I finally bought my first sailboat, a Hobie Getaway - "Boondoggle". Basically, I think about sailing most every waking hour of the day. You know those inspirational posters that show, say, a racing sailboat, and has some catchy phrase beneath it (something that's supposed to make us work harder for less pay, apparently)? All that does is make me want to sneak out and go sailing. I'm also glad to say that I've gotten 2 friends hooked on sailing (one was a Jet Sk! i Convert, no less). #1 cool fact about my boat: Built in beer coolers. #2 cool fact: It has this floatie thing on the top o' the mast to keep the boat from completely turtleing.

Enough of that. As for FBW, I would have to say Donner Lake, off of I80 in Truckee, CA. By far the best sailing lake I've been on. Next season, I'm going to try Shaver Lake and Huntington Lake (where they hold the High Sierra Regatta) to see how they stack up.

As for how I found the club, it was thru the Cap'n Drew Website.

'nuff said.

Hello Folks !! After a year back on a "land-locked" lake, we decided to return to the Tennessee river once again to enjoy the beauty of the inland waterways, and the freedom it provides. We are now settled at Gold Point marina on Lake Chickamauga, very near Chattanooga. The name of our boat is "the divine MISS T" . The boat is a 1989 Avanti, 33ft at the waterline,& the hull is gray in color...so if you see us out there ...give us a shout !!

Over the next few months I will re-open our Tennessee river web site and politely ask our own "Captain Jim" for a new link....oh by the way...a personal note to "Captain Jim", I have always enjoyed your web site from the first day I discovered it and will always be proud to be a member !!.........thanks and hope to see ya' all on the river !!

Wow! Thanks Rick! Of course that depends on how long you were looking. If we were the second site or later...we'll take it.
